Gearmotor

Operating on 115VAC/DC, It is used to drive asymmetrical steering linkages in printing and paper handling operations.115VAC/DC GEARMOTOR

A companion proportional-position servo-amplifier receives signals from a highly linear tachometer generator positioned within the end bell of the motor.  The servo-amp processes the output voltage and polarity of the tach generator and compares it with signals received from twin sensors on either side of a moving web.  The greater the deviation from nominal position of the web, the greater the rotational speed and direction at the output shaft, which prevents undesirable “hunting”.  The ghost image here provides an interesting look at the motor which also appears as an animated gif on my Home page.

Helical spur gears within the gearcase provide various output ratios while maintaining standardized centers.

The motor was designed to meet UL Class 1, Group D (explosion-proof) specifications, and its thru-bolt design allows access to internal parts for service.
